HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool is really a free disk formatting tool which allows people to easily and quickly format a USB flash drive to FAT32, exFAT or NTFS file system. And it can work flawlessly even when Windows was unable to complete the format when your usb pen drive turned raw format. Most external hard drives and USB drives are compatible for use on Mac computers as long as you format the devices for use with Mac OS X. USB drives can be formatted on your Mac using the Disk Utility application. Under the Gparted utility, right-click the USB partition that you want to format and select Unmount option. Still with the external disk selected in Disk Utility go to the Erase tab, select Mac OS Extended (Journaled) from the format dropdown, choose to name the disk and then click Erase. And there you have it one read and writable disk ready for OSX.

Even though this tool is from 2014, it is still widely recommended by Flash drive manufacturers as the suggested tool to format USB Drives. It should be noted that you need to run the program with Administrative privileges for it to work properly.
